We are delighted to announce that we are the Dog Fit Canicross Partner for Leeds as of 1st July 2019.
We have been a Dog Fit certified canicross instructor in November 2018 and have been their partner for Loughborough in the East Midlands since then.
Now we are working with DogFit to bring the joy of canicross to Leeds.
What is canicross?
Canicross is an exciting and fast growing sport where you run off road with your dog.
Whether you're just starting to get fit, trying to get into running or are a seasoned pro - it's a great way to get and stay fit, bond with your dog and socialise with other dog lovers. And on top of that it's lots and lots of fun! We can also help canicrossers struggling to get your dog to pull the line or follow commands!
Who runs the sesions?
Whenever you undertake any exercise or training programme, it's important to know that you are in the safe hands of a professional trainer who has your best interests at heart - and when you're exercising with dogs it's even more important. Whilst Canicross is 'easy when you know how', as with any exercise programme it's important that you are shown how to do it properly and safely.
Canicross sessions are lead by Chief Dog Walker Sian - who is an experienced sports coach and qualified and insured dog professional. On top of this, she has recently completed her DogFit Certified Canicross Instructor course (which is the only REPs Certified Canicross Training Provider) and is trained to deliver this fast growing sport in a safe, structured and fun way. She is also a Pet First Aider, and First Aid qualified for hoomans too!
Not only does Sian deliver fun and safe sessions, but she's also trained to be able to fit you and your dog with the right Canicross equipment to make sure that you and your dog can get the most out of every session.
Who can take part? Do I need to be fit?
Whether you are new to running or wanting to get fit and want the motivation by exercising with your dog and interested in our canicross couch 2 5K course, or are a seasoned runner just looking to mix things up a bit or go further as part of our 5K to 10K course (or further) - we can help.
What type of sessions do you do?
We deliver 1:1, group and bespoke sessions (e.g. for groups of friends) and are looking forward to bringing all the fun of canicross to Leeds!
Check out the types of sessions we run below:
Introductory sessions
1:1 sessions
Sessions for kids and young people

What do you learn?
You get to learn commands so that your dog knows which route to go, and you and your dog where a special harness so that you can both run together safely and 'hands free'. We also help you to improve your running technique and mindfulness techniques to make running easier.
